I have been struck again with the completeness of God’s plan.

Before the foundation of the world God chose me to be found in Him (Eph. 1:4).

He knows the end from the beginning. He did not get it all started at Creation and then retreat into the heavenlies to watch us from afar. He has always been involved in His creation, because of His great love for us. God is love.

Yet, we sin. It started in the Garden, but each of us has chosen the same path as Adam and Eve. God is Creator; therefore, He is able to establish the rules. He established the laws we are to live under, but we continually break them. We do not live “right” – we are not righteous people. We have all walked away from God.

For this reason – God’s law being broken – our Righteous God must judge.

He banished Adam and Eve from the Garden.

He brought a flood upon the earth in Noah’s day . . .

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth by unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

We know we sin but we don’t want to look at the truth. God has made the truth known to us and yet we don’t want to see it. Look at His creation – we know there must be a Creator and yet we don’t determine to seek Him . . .

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

We have no excuse. We are to seek the living and true God. We are to bring our Creator glory…honor…worship. . .

For even though they knew God, they did not honor God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

We continue to do this today. We speculate about other ways to God – or maybe even other gods – or maybe WE are gods?! And our foolish hearts become darkened . . .

Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

So, what are we to do? We are stubborn and foolish people who want to serve ourselves rather than our God. The scripture continues to teach . . .

Therefore, God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity . . . God gave them over to degrading passions . . . and just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind.

We become more and more dark. We refuse to acknowledge God. His righteousness – His holiness – is far from us. We cannot reach Him. We have been banished from the Garden and some day, soon, we will be judged. . .

…the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

We cannot escape the righteous wrath of God. Yet, again I will say, God is   love. . .

But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.

“But you said God is love!”

God is Love and God is Holy and God is Righteous and God is Judge and God is Compassion and God is All-knowing and God is All-powerful and God is All-seeing . . .

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

Thank God, He is love, or how would any of us stand?

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
